Outsourcing IT services to off-shore destinations has come into news for all the wrong reasons. Most workers in US blame IT department outsourcing for their job losses and have threatened to sue companies that outsource as well as stop buying products from them. Most economists though are of the firm belief that this backlash against IT department outsourcing to off-shore destinations is just a temporary process and is sure to vanish as the US economy improves and newer and better paying jobs are generated within the economy. Many economists have predicted an increase in IT outsourcing at the rate of 20% every year to reach a 20 billion huge market by the year 2007.
But outsourcing it jobs in the recent times has given rise to a speculative attitude among the technical and allied workers in the UK and US. In addition to US and UK, Canadian IT outsourcing has also come into the picture. Many white papers outsourcing IT suggest that the scenario is on a rise where more and more companies on small scale level are also taking the plunge outsourcing their software development operations overseas. |
