The Colorado state board of education has been authorized by the constitution of the state of Colorado with the general supervision of public schools in Colorado. The Colorado department of education or the CDE is the administrative arm of the Colorado state board of education that uses high standards and assessments to implement quality measures in areas of pre K12 public education, adult education, Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind and family literacy.
